My name is Jay Macleod and I’m the Reiki Evolution Reiki Master/Teacher responsible for running courses in Wiltshire. I have run my own Reiki courses since July 2005 and have been teaching for Reiki Evolution since January 2006.

I host first and second degree courses once every month plus Reiki Deepening courses and Reiki Master/Teacher courses once every two months. These courses are run from my home in Neston, Wiltshire. This is about 20 minutes North of Bath, and 20 minutes from junction 17 of the M4 motorway.

Teaching with Reiki Evolution

I accepted Taggart’s offer of running his courses because I felt, and still do feel, that they offer the most comprehensive and professional studies on Reiki, in terms of course manuals, cds and dvds, as well as the content itself. The way Reiki Evolution approaches teaching Reiki is as close to the original approach Mikao Usui took as it is possible to get to at this moment in time. It is clutter free, supportive, non-judgemental, simple and pure, and as a result it is very powerful.

The back-up that Reiki Evolution offers is also second to none. As a student you have access to your teacher and to Taggart for as long as you need to. This is very important as it can be quite daunting using Reiki - even experienced Reiki practitioners need help some times.

I agree with Taggart also on class sizes. We only have a maximum of 4 people on each Reiki I, II and Master course, and 6 people maximum on the Reiki Deepening course. This way we, the teacher, can concentrate on each student. Each student can ask as many questions as they like and we can spend as much time as we need making sure everyone has ‘got it’.

My Reiki courses

I love running courses. I have a simple, no-nonsense approach to Reiki and I like the training days to be fun & informative and at the same time calm & supportive. The first thing I say to everyone on my courses is that ‘there are no tests, you can’t get it wrong, today is just about practicing what you have read about’. I keep it simple and practical. I do not include spirit guides, crystals or any other ‘extras’ as they are not a part of my own personal Reiki practice. I keep it simple and pure, but acknowledge that there are many things out there that I do not understand and have not had experience of.

It is a most wonderful thing to see people’s faces when they first feel Reiki, and to hear how they have changed when they come back to do more courses. At the same time I learn so much myself on each course. I am so glad that I have found this path.

After the day is over it doesn’t stop there, though; I don't want any of my students to feel isolated or confused, so they can call or email me anytime if they have any concerns or questions. I send out a Reiju Empowerment, on a weekly basis, to each of my students and they also get the chance to join the Reiki Evolution discussion group.

My Reiki shares

I host Reiki Shares once a month. This is where anyone who has studied Reiki (whether I have taught them or not) can come along to my home, on an evening, and take part in Reiki activities. We generally spend an hour talking about what has happened to us and ask any questions we may have. We then spend about an hour giving Reiki to each other and receiving Empowerments. Sometimes people can feel a little lonely in their Reiki practice and these free Reiki Shares act as a very informal, and fun, evening to help them feel not so isolated.

My background

What led me to Reiki? Well, my best friend of many, many years had started using energy healing in his physiotherapy practice and was constantly telling me how wonderful it was. I knew that it took Chi Kung masters 20 to 30 years to be able to heal anyone with their own internal energy and I just didn't see how one could learn to do the same thing in a weekend. I searched the web in an attempt to choose a school that didn’t seem too wacky. Coming across Reiki Evolution I realised here was someone who was treating the subject with honesty and straight-forwardness. The site was professional and informative, so I booked up for the Reiki I course.

I went along as a sceptic and came away rather bemused and confused as to what was going on. During the day I had definitely felt energy, but I put that down to my mind playing tricks on me. Whilst driving home, however, I realised that the bad back I had started the day with was gone. Again I just put that down to coincidence. When I arrived home my wife was laid out on the sofa, unable to move, also with a bad back. Before calling the doctors we decided to try my new found Reiki skills. This was the turning point of my life – yes you guessed it, it worked and she recovered. I then spent a whole year in full-time Reiki mode. I carried out literally hundreds of treatments, all for free; just to find out if this thing was real or if it was just all in our minds. In the end I have had to accept that something amazing happens every time I use Reiki.

How Reiki changed me

The effects of Reiki on me have been amazing. I am so much more calm and centred. Nothing fazes me anymore. I see the world in a completely new way and am enjoying every day. I feel I am finally on the right path on my own spiritual journey and it is a pleasure to be able to be a part of other peoples’ journey.

I can recommend Reiki to everyone. I have not only seen the benefit to me but to many people I have treated and to people around me.

I do hope you decide to take the ‘leap of faith’ and try a Reiki course.

Love & Light

Jay
