Hello, my name is Laetitia Jones and I am the Reiki Master/Teacher responsible for teaching Reiki Evolution courses in Kent. I have been teaching courses for Reiki Evolution since June 2005. I teach 1st Degree Reiki courses once a month, 2nd Degree Reiki courses every other month and a Master/ Teacher course every 6 months from my base in Dartford. I am also teaching the new "Reiki Deepening Course.
I really enjoy teaching Reiki courses and I find the Reiki Evolution approach exciting because we teach the original Japanese system which has been lost in the West through time and changes. I also like the fact that the classes are kept smaller and more intimate so that I can spend more time with each person and monitor their progress as well as being able to answer all questions asked by students.
I am impressed by the "clutter free" simplicity of the Reiki Evolution system: you get so much information that is put across in a way which is easy to understand. The quality of the materials e.g. stationery, manuals, CDs and DVDs are exceptional and the ongoing support is wonderful. You certainly do get your "money's worth"!
My courses and Reiki shares
I enjoy the courses, meeting so many different people from all "walks" of life. I feel for people who have so many problems and difficulties in these modern times, physically and emotionally. Introducing them to Reiki is a pleasure, I enjoy seeing the delight on their faces when they discover that they can feel the energies and what Reiki can do for them. Also seeing them enjoy the serenity of the meditations which are so necessary for all of us in a stressful world. It fills me with joy when I have had students thank me for giving them such a wonderful gift, as I too have played a part in making their world a better place.
I host a monthly Reiki share which all students of Reiki can attend and practice healing as well as receive a treatment themselves. The energy is extremely powerful at these gatherings, we have had plenty of interesting experiences and results. It also gives the students a chance to meet others and discuss their experiences together.
My background
I suprise myself everyday with the path in life I have chosen. I was raised in a strict Christian religion that disagrees with spiritual healing. It teaches that Jesus was the only healer and any other form does not come from God. Needless to say I left it. I went on my own search in religions and career, not too sure about what I wanted to do, so I went to college and did a 2 year Beauty Therapy course, I had been interested in this subject from the age of 13.
When I did my NVQ level 3 in the 2nd year,with all the body treatments, the teachers remarked on the fact that i was very good at massage. As my clients talked to me I could see that the majority had emotional problems and I then decided that I wanted to help people more with what was going on INSIDE them than just treatments which are more down to vanity.
On my 3rd year at college I decided that I was going to do courses in Aromatherapy and Reflexology. My Aromatherapy teacher told someone she couldnt stop watching me when I was feeling the energy's on the client's backs. She didnt have to watch me as i had passed all my assessments, but she couldnt help herself. The teacher said that she felt I had "powers".
The 4th year at college I was doing an Indian Head Massage course, I read a magazine and Taggart's advertisement for Reiki Evolution seemed to jump out at me. I wasn't too sure about going into healing at first as I thought you would need "hot hands" and mine were not!! My husband's were always hot and I thought he would make a good healer. (He is reiki 2 now!)
I really wanted to help others and when I read about Reiki and found that when you treat others you are also treat yourself too, I knew that this one would be ideal as I could do both things at once, as I also had past issues which neeeded healing.
My training with Reiki Evolution
For Reiki 1 I travelled 80 miles to Saffron Walden. I had never been there before and surprisingly enough I didnt get lost!! Taggart greeted me, he is lovely a real "gentle giant!" It was a lovely day, I couldnt get over Taggart's presence, how you could feel his energy even though he was nowhere near you. After the course, Taggart gave me a treatment as I had never experienced one before. He scanned my body and picked up an area which used to regularly ache after I had been to dance practice. He then placed his hands on my shoulders and I felt a strong surge of energy rush through my body, I felt a little anxious at first, but once I relaxed and got used to it, it was beautiful.
I wasnt sure if I would go onto Reiki 2, but it was obviously part of my journey and I did the Reiki 2 course a year later. Taggart came to my home for that one as a friend of mine was also doing her Reiki 2 with him. I had some amazing experiences after Reiki 2, as my energy centres opened up even more. I also began to see energy lights as I was also doing psychic development at the time. I added Reiki to my list of therapies and had very good results with clients.
I thought I would stay at level 2 and didnt really think I would do the Reiki Master course, but it too was part of my journey and I did the Reiki Master course 2 years after Reiki 2. That was such a great weekend, so much exciting information and new things to use, as you move up another level.
Starting to teach
I waited a year before I began to teach courses as I felt that I wanted the new stronger energy to settle down and give myself a good base to teach on.There are more meditations and symbols, you need to give yourself time. After all, you need to be comfortable with it all yourself before you teach others.
When I taught my first courses it was a great achievement, I met some lovely new friends who were very supportive while I was getting used to this new way of life. After I had been teaching courses for a year, Taggart then asked me if I would like to work with him and here I am!!!
Why Reiki?
Reiki has so much a part of my life, I could not live without it now. Its helped me so much in so many things.
It could turn your life around too if you let it!! I can certainly recommend it to you.
The best thing about the courses is that the Reiki energy is pure unconditional love and thats what flows around these courses to all and we can all share it together.
