When you are starting out as a Reiki teacher it can be a bit intimidating to think about putting together a certificate to give to the students on your Reiki courses. What do you say? How should you lay out the text to make it attractive? What images should you use? How do you start? We have tried to assist people in this, and take away all the hassle, by making available some Japanese Reiki certificate templates that you can use straight away to produce your own Reiki certificates.

What we did was to commission Japanese Master Calligrapher Eri Takase to prepare Japanese-style Reiki certificate templates for us using authentic Japanese calligraphy, and they are now available so that any Reiki teacher from any lineage can use them for their own Reiki courses. We discussed the wording of the Japanese Reiki certificate templates with Eri to make sure that it would be suitable for all varieties of Reiki, and we took Eri's advice about the correct layout and components of the design so that the Japanese Reiki certificate templates reflected the traditional Japanese approach.
About your Japanese Reiki certificate templates
On the left you can see some Reiki students clutching their Japanese style Reiki certificates, which one of our Reiki Master Teachers put together using our templates. She printed hers on 'certificate blanks' with a pretty design round the edges; if you like you can print out your certificates on any attractive paper.
We have prepared these Japanese Reiki certificate templates so that they can be used by teachers from all Reiki lineages and styles, and we provide specially brushed kanji that represent all the different Reiki levels and kanji suitable for many special "Reiki-related" courses too. You can use these Japanese Reiki certificate templates in three ways:

Who can use these Japanese Reiki certificate templates?

The Japanese Reiki certificate templates can be amended and adjusted to suit your needs: you can alter the wording, the font and the text size; you can change the text layout and design; you can move the special seal. About Eri Takase, Shihan, who brushed these Japanese Reiki certificate templates
Born and raised in Osaka Japan, Ms. Takase trained in traditional Japanese calligraphy since the age of six, devoting much of her life to the art. In 1989, Master Takase was awarded the rank of Shihan (or Master) in Japan's most prestigious calligraphic societies, the Bokuteki-kai and Bunka-shodo. Master Takase is among the few to have won several best of category awards in national competitions and her work has been displayed in the Osaka Museum of Arts.
In 1995, Master Takase moved to the United States and began transforming her art, often quoted as saying, "Japanese Calligraphy is too beautiful a bird to be locked in the cage of a thousand years of tradition." She is also quick to add that the truly new comes from a respect and appreciation for what has come before. And so classically trained Ms. Takase's favorite expression is onkochishin: "Respect the past, create the new."
This strong background in the classic art is apparent in all she does. From traditional works to modern designs one sees both the hand of the master and the vision of the artist. In 1997 Master Takase founded her own school: Takase Shodokai.
