"What was amazing about the day was its simplicity and gentleness.
I loved Sue's manner. She was warm, bubbly and welcoming. She gave each of us plenty of time to answer any questions that arose so the conversation flowed wherever it needed to go and for as long as it needed. The day was enjoyable and went by all too quickly.
The only tension of the day I brought myself in the form of my persistent habit of thinking (whatever the activity) "I won't be able to do it", so I was a little nervous at the point when we came to practice on each other to see what we could feel in respect of the energy: a little nervous also to be observed in a new learning situation. But as I say, this was of my own making, and the support from Sue and the other students was excellent. I couldn't have asked for any better atmosphere.
It was so exciting when we practised to find that I could really feel a response to a person's energy, and that we all could. I could do it! We all gave something to each other.
The empowerments were special moments. I had rarely experienced colour in my own healing sessions up until then, but in the empowerments purples with some dark greens were significant features. I have been endlessly fascinated by the rich associations and the imagery that I experienced in my own initial healing sessions, coupled with active light patterns as healing went on, and now these strong bands of colour have added to the mix. I was strongly drawn to talk to my dad (dead) about my mum (living).
Reiki healing has been such a great gift to me - relaxing, making calm, bringing me back to life, with matters of the spiritual yet to consider - which is why I wanted to train as a Reiki Healer, to pass the gift on. I use the word 'journey' a great deal in my practice as a visual artist and fine art educator. Exploring how to translate ideas and emotions into visuals, exploring world-wide cultures through ideas and artefacts. Way back I was lucky to receive a travel award to China and Japan and have dipped my toe, so to speak, in to art forms, architecture, beliefs relating to Buddhism. Now, with Reiki, there is a very tangible re-connection to its precepts to explore, a new and extended journey and the privilege (so enormous I haven't got to grips with it quite yet) of being a connected channel for Reiki's powerful healing energy. The simplicity, I guess, is to accept, marvel and enjoy.
Of the four stduents, I was the only one who had experienced Reiki healing and as this had been a truly unexpected and astonishing process for me, bringing me out of mental and physical exhaustion. I hope my enthusiasm and account of my experience was helpful to everyone.
The manual is thorough and was crucial to the preparation. I particularly use the audio CD for Hatsurei and Self-treatment and find the voice and tone and sounds very enticing and calming. It helps put me in a good space. I found the Reiki Evolution web site informative and I liked its ongoing investigation into the origins of Reiki which is why I chose to train with the organisation. E-mail correspondence with Taggart prior to training was clear and straightforward. The potential for 'aftercare', for swaps or shares and practical information about stockists and support via a network of Reiki practitioners in e-mail conversation is also very helpful.
I had no hesitation about signing up for Level 2 training with Sue Jones."

"On booking the course I was not sure on what to expect.
The manual and CD came through a week after booking which was plenty of time to read and digest. The manual has everything and a lot more besides. The CD was brilliant, especially the guided meditation parts.

“It was very useful having the manual and D beforehand. This meant that the day flowed, as the other two students had also had time to learn and digest and we were all at the same level. I was extremely grateful that I was sent the manual and CD from the First Degree, since I obtained my First Degree elsewhere. I feel you promote the true spirit of Reiki, as other centres were insisting that I repeat the First Degree before taking my Second Degree at excessive prices.
The CD is excellent whilst working through the techniques. I find it particularly helpful whilst doing distant healing, as I lose sense of time.

I had been recommended several books but there is a lot of conflicting information regarding Reiki, so this was confusing.
Reiki Evolution comes across as a solid base from which to learn. The CDs are extremely helpful and easy to use. They encourage you to do the daily energy work which also is so enjoyable it’s not hard to find the time to do it.
This approach to learning appeals to me because it is structured and although Reiki itself can be hard to explain and pin down when you are learning to use the energy, it helps to be aware of exercises and meditations which will enhance your experience.
The Internet discussion group is also a great idea as it gives you a sense of community and a safe place to discuss experiences.
I feel very fortunate that I am continuing my Reiki training with Reiki Evolution. Sue is a great teacher with just the right amount of dedication and enthusiasm combined with a great sense of humour. Reiki should be a fun experience and studying with Sue strikes just the right balance. I’m looking forward to continuing learning.”
