“I attended a Reiki first degree course with Veronica Hayes in Bury St Edmunds in May 2008. It was with some trepidation that I turned into the driceway at Leaf House as I was unsure what to expect (even though I had read all the material supplied) and I was still doubtful that I would “experience” anything.
I need not have been concerned on either count. Veronica extended me a very warm welcome and quickly made me feel very at ease.
She discussed the course material with me and we revisited the “background” to Reiki before moving onto my first empowerment. I felt very nervous but once again Veronica put me at my ease. I was amazed at the different sensations I experienced including tingling, extreme heat and flashes of colour as I had my eyes closed. Shortly after my first empowerment I was talking of my experiences with Veronica and burst into tears. This also occurred for the 2nd and 3rd one!
Throughout the day the course was well balanced with theoretical and practical learning. I found Veronica to be very knowledgeable and she explained and demonstrated things very clearly.
I thought the pre course material was excellent and I enjoyed the experience of home learning with a variety of media such as the written script, pictures and the CDs.
I think it is an excellent idea to ask students to write down their expectations and concerns and then to revisit them as they learn the material. This really helped me to focus and think about what I really want to achieve.
I use the CD every day for my daily energy exercises and self healing as well as when I am doing distant healing. I found that these really help.”

"I found the course to be very inspiring, Veronica was calming and easy to be with. It was a very enjoyable day.
The CDs made learing Hatsurei ho and the self treatment meditaton much easier to do, rather than trying to remember. The manual is very well laid out with pictures of the different hand postions, which I found very helpful, to ensure I was doing things the right way.
I tried not to have too many expectations for the day, I just wanted to see if or how much I would feel. I had some very good moments, the first one was with my third empowerment, which I saw a purple / violet colour through black shadows and the 2nd on our full treatment session. I was treating a lady and I felt a lot of heat and pulling over areas of her body. It was an overwhelming experience, but I was pleased I had felt the energy.
I plan to spend some time using and getting into a good routine with Reiki 1 and then go on to Reiki 2 in the future."
