Reiki Power Retrieval
A weekend of shamanic journeying and power retrieval for Reiki practitioners

The Reiki Power Retrieval weekend is more than a practitioner level course; it is a unique and transformative healing experience. Drawing on our existing connection with the Reiki source, we will work with some of the foundational principles of contemporary shamanism to expand your seership and spiritual healing capabilities.
This weekend is a doorway into shamanic practice. You will learn the ancient practice of journeying with drums and rattles to bring back information for the highest healing good of your clients (and yourself!), and how to communicate spiritual information skilfully, without causing fear or confusion to the people you serve.
Together we will explore the concept of Power in contemporary shamanism, and I will share the results of my 20 years of continuous study in both Reiki and shamanic practice, combining them for powerful, transformative energy medicine. You will learn to journey through magical landscapes to hunt for lost power and communicate with spiritual allies. By the end of this weekend you will know how to restore Power and vitality to yourself and your clients, and elevate your therapeutic sessions into sacred healing ceremonies.
Prerequisites
No previous experience in any form of shamanic practice is required for this course, however you must be qualified to practitioner level (Reiki 2) at a minimum, as we will be drawing on your meditation and energy healing experience. If you haven’t trained with me before, you will need to send me your Reiki 2 or Reiki Master certificate.

FAQs
How much experience do I need to attend this course?
You must be qualified to at least Reiki 2 (practitioner level) and if you did not train with me you will need to send me a copy of your Reiki 2 or Reiki Master certificate. You do not need to be working professionally as a Reiki healer or teacher, but you would benefit from having practiced your healing craft on others before attending, even it’s just friends/families or a private healing circle or share. You do not need to have experience in shamanic practice or journeying to join this course.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring something (a scarf or eye mask) to cover your eyes. Bring a notebook and pen to record your personal journeys (comprehensive notes on the method will be provided to take away with you but it is good practice to record the details of your own work). Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated!
If you have one, you can bring a rattle to assist you in the journeying practice, however it is not necessary and spares will be provided. You won’t need a drum, as you won’t be leading any journeys. We will be working on the ground rather than on treatment tables for the most part, and yoga mats and blankets are provided for this purpose. You can bring your own if you prefer, and there are chairs available if you are uncomfortable sitting on the ground.
What are the lunch arrangements?
On both days there is a 1 hour lunch break in the middle of the day. We have access to a kitchen with a kettle, fridge and microwave and a place to sit and eat, as well as the lovely Peace Garden (weather permitting). There are plenty of shops and cafes in town if you don’t want to bring your own lunch. Water and herbal teas are available throughout the day.
Is this venue easily accessible?
Please note that this beautiful teaching venue is upstairs in one of our amazing high street shops. There is no lift available, and no parking immediately outside the venue – though there are paid carparks within a 5-10 minute walk.
Are there contraindications for this kind of shamanic work?
Unlike Reiki, which doesn’t have any proven contraindications, shamanic journeying and visionary work of this nature does cause a slightly altered state of brainwave activity. I have worked with many people who are living with mental health issues such as depression, and in fact Power Retrieval is excellent medicine for such situations.
However this sort of visionary work can be problematic for those living with conditions such as schizophrenia or who have a history of psychosis and therefore I cannot accept students with these conditions onto this course. If you have any questions around these kind of issues, please do contact me directly to ask.
Am I able to cancel my booking?
These courses only run once or twice a year, and deposits are non-refundable. Wherever possible, your booking will be transferred to the next available date.
Are these courses run in places other than Glastonbury?
At the moment, the Reiki Power Retrieval weekend is only being run in my magical hometown of Glastonbury. However, if you have a group of Reiki people and a venue to invite me to – I love to travel! Please contact me directly to arrange to host me at your own healing centre or festival.
The Certificate
All courses are accompanied by an attractive certificate provided by Kay Gillard.

Course Fees
The fee for the Reiki Power Retrieval two-day live course is £240, with a £80 deposit paid in advance, and the balance paid to Kay Gillard by direct bank transfer in advance of the course; Kay will contact you to arrange that.

Once you’ve been on your Reiki Power Retrieval course course we want you to know that your teacher will be on hand to deal with any questions or queries that you might have.

Using your data
When you enrol on a course with Reiki Evolution using the payment button above, PayPal will send us your contact details (name, e-mail address, postal address) and we will ask you for your telephone number. We need to store and use this data to deal with your enrolment: we need to know where to post your certificate and we need to send your details to the Reiki teacher so that they know who you are and when you are booked to attend, and so they can contact you to introduce themselves, and in extreme circumstances they might need to call you to cancel a course at the last minute (though this hardly ever happens). We also need to keep your details for tax purposes and to maintain a list of former students so that we can issue replacement certificates in the future, if a student’s certificate was lost or damaged.
