I am not sure if there is a caricature or stereotype for a Reiki person, or a Reiki practitioner. Perhaps an image of an ageing hippy with a kaftan, someone chanting, with incense and crystals, someone following an alternative lifestyle, comes to mind. And while there are indeed Reiki people who would fall into that stereotype, you would be surprised at the number of “normal”, ordinary people who have learned and are using Reiki for their own benefit and for the benefit of their friends and family.
What sort of people learn Reiki? The simple answer is that people just like you learn Reiki! Reiki attracts people from endless different backgrounds, so you can’t say that Reiki attracts people from a particular socio-economic group or occupation. What I have done below is to list the occupations of some of my many students, so far as I can remember them. If I remember more, and as students with different occupations arrive on my courses, I will add more to the list.
